The purpose of this visa is to allow an adult dependent relative to join their family member in the UK for the sole purpose that they require long-term personal care.

You will be able to apply for this visa category if the following requirements are satisfied:

1. You are 18 years of age or older.
2. You are a parent, grandparent, sibling or child of a British national or someone with settled status in the UK.
3. You require long term help performing daily tasks.
4. You cannot get this support from the country you currently live in.
5. Your relative will be able to support you without depending on UK public funds.

If applying under this route, you must be able to demonstrate that as a result of their age, illness or disability, they require a constant level of long-term care that can only be provided by their UK relative here in the UK. It must be clearly proven that they do not have access to this care in their country of residence.

This visa can only be applied for outside of the UK. This is not a route you can switch to whilst in the UK.
